Microsoft actually confirmed Windows 11 22H2 RTM build and its release date

Two weeks ago, were there rumors that Windows 11 RTM build 22H2 would be signing on May 20. Some sources were naming May 24 as the sign off date. But build 22621 was named the main candidate for this status. At that time, this was only a guess. Now, Microsoft has actually confirmed this information.

Windows 11 Version 22h2

There is a new post on the Tech Community forum for hardware partners. It is about the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program (WHCP). The RTM build of version 22H2 is clearly mentioned:

Windows 11, version 22H2 certification build

Minimum acceptable build for Windows 11, version 22H2 certification is RTM build(i.e. 22621).

The company also announced that they start accepting WHCP program submissions for Windows 11 version 22H2 on May 31. Applications will be accepted until September 5, 2022. This means that the public release of the first major update for Windows 11 should be expected at the end of September or in October 2022.

Windows 11, version 22H2 – Submissions on Hardware Dev Center

Partner Center will start accepting submissions for Windows 11, version 22H2 starting 5/31/2022.

...

Windows 11, version 22H2 based systems may ship with drivers that have achieved compatibility with Windows 11, version 21H2 until Sept 5th, 2022.

it is obvious that Microsoft may change the release dates of Windows 11 version 22H2. If they find some critical bug, or a release blocking issue, the OS can become available much later. They may even pick a more recent build of the OS as the RTM release candidate.
