Microsoft today released a new version of PowerToys. Version 0.47.1 is a minor maintenance update which comes with a few bugfixes.
Microsoft says they intended to resolve the following stability issues based on users' feedback.
What's new in PowerToys 0.47.1
- [Shortcut Guide] After releasing
Win

Win + Space

Shift + CapsLock
combo - [FancyZones] Shortcuts not changing layout
- [FancyZones] Auto-resizing windows breaks with certain applications
- [FancyZones] Layouts not being remembered after computer locks
You can download it from the GitHub page.
Alternatively, you can download PowerToys from the Microsoft Store. However, it currently works only on Windows 11. If you use Windows 10, the GitHub repository remains the only official source to get the set of utilities. Eventually, the Redmond software giant will resolve this inconvenience. They will make the app available to Windows 10 Store users soon.
For those unfamiliar, PowerToys is a long living Microsoft's project. Introduced with Windows 95, it was suspended in Windows XP days. While the tools weren't available from Windows Vista to Windows 8.1, they came back to life with Windows 10
The modern version of PowerToys has a bunch of must-have utilities, such as bulk file renaming, image resizer, app launcher, a tool to keep your computer awake, keyboard remapper, and others. Recently, Microsoft released an update with a redesigned UI that resembles the appearance of the Windows 11 Settings app. There is also a useful conference mute tool, that allows to terminate the use of Microsphone and WebCam for all apps at once with a single keystroke.
