The leaked Windows 11 build reveals a new Ink Workspace panel, which is significantly better than the one currently available in Windows 10. The actual implementation only allows accessing the Snip and Sketch tool and the Microsoft Whiteboard app. In Windows 11, things has changed.
The new version of Ink Workspace allows users to add any app to the Quick Access Toolbar, whether they are pen-optimized or not. This way, you can pin up to 4 apps of your choice so that they will be shown when you open Ink Workspace using its taskbar button or press a button on your pen device. In addition to them, there is also an area in the Edit Application List menu that displays recommended pen-optimized applications.
Not to mention that the Ink Workspace app has also received a refreshed user interface that follows the rounded corners style of Windows 11. It also features nice effects with acrylic blur.
How to enable the Ink Workspace panel on Windows 11
- Open the Settings app by pressing the Win + I shortcut.
- Navigate to Personalization > Taskbar.
- On the right, turn on the option Show Ink Workspace button.
- Click on the Ink Workspace taskbar button to launch the app
Now you are able to give it a try.

Advertisеment
My Windows 11 taskbar options looks NOTHING like the example shown. There is no Ink Workspace option on the taskbar customization list.
The above only works AFTER you download the Windows Ink Workspace from the Microsoft Store (it is free, but it is NOT automatically part of Win 11).
It all changed from this again anyway. The new tool can hardly be called an improvement by having to download an extra app and the capture tool taking extra steps.
I just wish MS would leave good alone!
