In addition to regular monthly cumulative updates Microsoft releases every second Tuesday of a month, the company often pushes additional patches (also known as C-updates) with non-security updates. Today is that day. Optional C-updates are now available for all supported Windows 10 versions. Here is what is new.

To install optional updates for Windows 10, head to Windows Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > Optional Updates. The company will include those patches in the next month's Patch Tuesday.
Microsoft also reminded users that Windows 10 2004 is quickly approaching its end-of-life. Microsoft plans to cease supporting Windows 10 2004 on December 14, 2021.
It is also worth mentioning that today's update is not available for Windows 11. The latter received separate optional C-updates a couple of days ago. Version 22000.282 brought numerous quality-of-life improvements, including performance dips on systems with processors from AMD. You can learn more about that update here.
