Microsoft has released a new version of PowerToys 0.74. The update doesn't bring with it drastic changes or new tools, but it comes with quality of life and stability improvements.
PowerToys 0.74 now uses Windows App SDK 1.4.1, so all its tools that use WinUI3 now works much reliable.
Text Extractor, a tool that allows you to copy any text from any open app, has reached version 2.0. It sports a new overlay, table mode and more.
The FancyZones app should no longer reset some layouts. It also better handles newly created windows on Windows 11.
Finally, the release fixes many silent crashes that were reported to Watson and the user's event viewer.
Some other changes to note:
- Turning animations off in Windows Settings will now also turn them off in PowerToys.
- Fixed a Crop and Lock crash that would occur when trying to reparent a window crashes the target application. An error message is shown instead.
- Optimized CPU usage for generating SVG thumbnails in File Explorer add-ons.
- File Locksmith now shows files opened by processes with PID greater than 65535.
- Find My Mouse has got new activation methods, including by hotkey.

command will also install the app suite on your Windows 11 PC.
