The Edge browser is getting a new feature that allows you to export its browsing history to a CSV file. The new option is directly available in both the default history flyout, and on the full view page, edge://history/all
.

When you signed to Edge with a Microsoft Account, the browser syncs the visited URL across your devices. You will see the browsing history from all your computers, as well as from your smartphone, if you use Edge for Android/iOS. Exporting history to a CVS file adds extra convenience to the way you manage your browser.
CSV is a widely used text format, where each of the lines belongs to a single data record. The values in the line are separated by commas, which give the name to the file format. CSV means "Comma-Separated Values".
After you export Edge browsing history to such a file, you can open it in any text editor like Notepad. But the more convenient way to view it is to use Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, or an online viewer like Google Docs. It will show you the site URL, and its title.
Here's how to use it.
How to Export Edge History to CSV File
To export Microsoft Edge browsing history to a CSV file, do the following.
- Open Microsoft Edge, and click on the history icon in the toolbar if you have one, or press Ctrl + H.
- From within the flyout, click on the three-dot menu button.
- Now, click on Export browsing data.
- Alternatively, you click on the "Open history page" link. There you will find the same button.
- Finally, specify the folder where you will store the CSV file, and its name.
You are done.
While you cannot import the history back from the file, it is great to have such an option. It will allow you to open the links in any browser, and on any device.
As of the moment of this writing, the ability to export web history is a work in progress and not yet fully functional. It will take some time before you will have the option in the stable version of the browser.
Yet another exciting option that comes to Edge is the ability to rewrite the selected text using AI.
